The Complete Practitioner's Course in Homœoprophylaxis

Outline of Course

The aim of the course is to offer homœoprophylaxis (HP) as a tool for any practitioner who has patients/clients who are considering/researching or requesting an alternative to conventional vaccination - A complete packaged solution to offer homœoprophylaxis effectively and confidently.

The following benefits or outcomes for practitioners are expected: -

  1. Complete explanation of the HP protocols for both short-term and long-term protection from start to finish in a balanced, integrative way.
  2. Confidence in offering the service safely and legally, with templates and paperwork which Isaac personally uses.
  3. Management strategies for reactions or other issues which may arise during implementation of HP schedules, with examples from commonly encountered situations in Isaac's practice.
  4. How to talk with parents and GP's, with the most common FAQ's Isaac has encountered in his career.
  5. Complete supportive evidence, with studies on homœoprophylaxis from 1798 to 2012.
  6. Case examples from Isaac's own practice.
  7. One on One contact with Isaac throughout the course so that every question you have on the topic can be answered by Isaac.

Outline of Sessions:

Session 1: Introduction and overview of the course. What is homœoprophylaxis? Do we really need homœoprophylaxis?

This Session discusses what the course will cover over the full 12 sessions. It defines HP, and then discusses whether we really do need to prevent infectious diseases including the idea that some infectious diseases can be beneficial. Parental choice is suggested as being a key requirement in any immunisation solution.

Session 2: Short-term HP in practice (1)

Session 2 begins with a brief outline of the historical use of HP from Dr Hahnemann's time to the present day. It then begins the description of how to implement short-term HP programs for both acute conditions and overseas travel. Nosodes and Genus Epidemicus remedies for a range of diseases are shown. Tables showing patient instructions are provided which participants can use in their own practice if they wish. The issue of which type of remedy is best to use is discussed, as is the selection of the potency and frequency to use for short-term protection.

Session 3: Short-term HP in practice (2)

Session 3 continues the discussion of short-term HP by discussing 9 problem scenarios which a commonly encountered in practice, and how to deal with them. This course is a very practical one, and understanding and resolving the major issues that patients face is crucial to being able to deliver short-term HP programs with confidence. The advantage of HP over vaccination when the strain of the circulating antigen changes is revealed.

Session 4: Long-term HP in practice (1) - My long-term program

Session 4 begins a three part examination of my long-term HP program. It shows the program is prepared physically, and how it is presented to the patient. It examines the Main Program and the Supplementary Program which are built into the one kit. The remedies used together with their potencies and the timing of delivery are listed. Changes in the program in 2012 are discussed and the six objectives of the program are listed. It is then demonstrated using research data that not all HP programs are the same. Implications for practical prescribing are discussed.

Session 5: Long-term HP in practice (2) - Commonly asked questions

In Session 5 we discuss and answer 68 commonly asked questions by parents using the long-term HP program. An ability to comfortably answer these questions shows that the practitioner has a thorough understanding of all practical aspects of HP.

Session 6: Long-term HP in Practice (3) – The HP Consultation. Patient's decisions.

Session 6 begins with the HP consultation - how to present HP to parents who are considering whether to use HP or vaccination. The decisions parents must make are discussed. We review the selection of remedies to be used in a long-term HP program. Finally, the controversial topic of antibodies and HP is raised.

Session 7: Evidence of effectiveness (1)

We begin Session 7 by asking why measures of effectiveness are so important. Four types of evidence are identified, and in this Session the first three are discussed – historical use; the effectiveness of short-term use, and the effectiveness of long-term use. Statistical tests to validate the measure of long-term effectiveness are shown. The need to consider all measures as an integrated whole is discussed.

Session 8: Evidence of effectiveness (2)

In the second Session devoted to examining the effectiveness of HP we analyse in some detail recent massive HP interventions in Cuba and India. These interventions, supported by governments and carried out usually by people with orthodox scientific qualifications, have been provided to literally millions of people. They have been an unqualified success, and have provided massive amounts of data to support the effectiveness of HP.

Session 9: Evidence of safety

Session 9 is devoted to a thorough examination of the short-term and the long-term safety of my main HP program. Research data is presented on a range of safety issues. Reactions to my long-term HP program are analysed in detail, and conclusions drawn. In particular, data from my General health Study conducted as part of my doctoral research is presented. This data allows the reader to make quantitative differentials between the safety of vaccination and the safety of HP.

Session 10: Common philosophical issues

In Session 10, eight different philosophical aspects of HP are discussed; aspects which are often controversial in the homeopathic community. The issue include whether we should only treat is raised, whether HP should only use GE remedies in epidemics, whether we are preventing or treating when we use HP, and the length of prevention. The topics covered should give the reader confidence that they can respond to any questions asked from within the homeopathic community.

Session 11: Mechanism of action

In Session 11 we examine the possible mechanism of action of HP - and we compare two possible explanations of how it works. The “proving model” and the “energetic model” are outlined. The latter involves a consideration of our energetic anatomy.

Session 12: Conclusions

In Session 12 we shall draw together material from the previous 11 sessions. But in addition we shall revisit parts of the course where participants asked repeated questions to ensure any unresolved issues are fully covered.
